OVERLAY ROOF – METAL ROOFING
An overlay roof is a metal roof that is placed over an existing roof. This kind of roof is made of zinc & aluminum panels that look exactly like a traditional roofing material, but are much lighter and easy to install. The major advantage is that there is no need for demolition. This saves time, material and especially a lot of costs.
An overlay roof can be installed on every roof with a 7° slope or more, if the condition of the existing structure allows it. Every roof placement differs from roof to roof.
Overlaid on a slate roof: When placing an overlaid over an existing roof with (real) slates, a new wooden structure is placed over the existing roof. The metal overlay roof is mounted on this wooden structure.
Overlay roof on asbestos slates: for health reasons, a specialist must first remove asbestos slates. Secondly the overlay roof is placed on a new under-roof.
Overlay roof on traditional roof tiles: In this case, the existing roof tiles are removed and the metal overlay roof is placed on the existing structure.
CONCLUSION
For the renovation of a pitched roof, an overlay roof is an economical, quick and durable solution.
